Rare Books
February 16, 2012A single book is said to constitute a wealth of information that is likened to a whole library. Each title has its own distinct uniqueness and appeal that separates it from another. With countless copies of books at the disposal of readers, there is usually a rare book that is considered an exceptional find and is not likely to be found in many places.
The possible places to find a rare book include private collections, selected book stores, online websites, public libraries or in the hands of book scouts. The term book scout refers to an individual whose occupation involves the small scale purchase and sale of books. These scouts often have a good knowledge of books and could be in a position to identify a rare book. With millions of books and plenty of literature having been published, it is only a small percentage of them that can be referred to as rare. There is no structured format of establishing a rare book; yet, there are several factors that can be used to determine rarity.
